We're the Louisiana Gulf Coast Chapter of the American Bamboo Society. Concentrated mainly along the US Gulf Coast region, we have members from all over the world. Many enjoy coming to the bamboo activities that we participate in thoroughout the year, please be sure to see our  Events Calendar for dates and locations of many bamboo activities thoughout the year.

LGCC officers and board of directors enthusiastically support the following mission statement:

• Encourages the growth and propagation of bamboo by botanical gardens and others.
• Scientific research on bamboo at a local, national, and

  international level.

• Research and education using bamboo as a sustainable

  agricultural crop.

• Research and education using bamboo as an

  environmentally safe substitute to control deforestation, water quality, and erosion projects.

• Educational programs that utilize bamboo for arts,

  crafts, and utilitarian development.

• Youth activities in bamboo related activities.
